Hamas Sends New Body After Body Returned Was Not Of Shiri Bibas

Feb 22, Kathmandu- Hamas claimed that the new body handed over to the Red Cross on Friday evening was that of Israeli hostage Shiri Bibas. Israeli medical authorities are examining the body.

Earlier on Thursday, Hamas handed over four bodies to Israel. Hamas claimed that one of them was Shiri Bibas.

However, after a forensic examination of the body, Israel said that the body was not that of Shiri Bibas but that of an unidentified woman.

Hamas has handed over another body to Israel, a senior Hamas official confirmed to the BBC.

On 7 October 2023, Shiri Bibas, 33, was taken hostage by Hamas along with her two children, 5-year-old Ariel and 2-year-old Kafir.

The news of these men's deaths caused a wave of anger and grief in Israel.

The IDF said intelligence and forensic investigations showed that both children were brutally killed by terrorists in November 2023. However, Hamas said the children and their mother were killed in an Israeli bomb attack.

Earlier, Israel said on Thursday that Hamas had not returned the body of Israeli hostage Shiri Bibas. Israeli forensic investigations have claimed that the body was not that of Shiri Bibas.

In this regard, Israel has accused Hamas of violating the terms of the ceasefire agreement. BBC
