Feb 23, Kathmandu- National Assembly MP Urmila Aryal has stressed on the need to strengthen the country's economy rather than relying on other countries, emphasizing the need to mobilize the country's resources and create employment in the country.
She said that budget mobilization should be made transparent and grant funds should be utilized properly.
During today's special meeting of the National Assembly, she said that instead of building a self-respecting economy, one should not rely solely on foreign employment and remittances.
MP Sharada Devi Bhatta demanded justice for Prakriti Lamsal, who is studying at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology in the Indian state of Odisha.
She demanded an end to violence against women, saying, "It must be said with sadness that many people like Nirmala Pantha, Prakriti Lamsal, and Rinku Kumari Sada have lost their lives unnecessarily."
Arguing that opposing the ordinance recently issued by the government was not appropriate, she said that everyone should come together to pass it.
She objected to the recent statement made by House of Representatives member MP Gyanendra Shahi about the National Assembly.
