Construction Businessmen Warn Of Halting Work If Safety Is Not Ensured

Feb 23, Kathmandu- The Federation of Nepal Builders and Contractors has warned that construction work will be halted across the country if security is not guaranteed, citing ongoing attacks on construction contractors.

The Federation has mentioned that on February 8, an unknown group attacked and seriously injured Upendra Koirala, the official representative of construction company Shrijayanti-Biruwa-Dragon JV at the construction site of Ekdumja-Marinkhola-Kapilkot-Lalbandi road in Sindhuli.

The Federation says that despite repeatedly informing the concerned bodies across the country about such incidents, the incidents have not stopped.

The Federation has also demanded that those involved in the attacks be brought to justice, compensation be given to the victims, and security guarantees be provided to businessmen across the country.

The Federation has warned that if such activities are not stopped, construction work will be halted across the country and protests will be launched.
