Tri-country Tourism Exhibition In Pokhara

Feb 24, Kathmandu- The first-ever trilateral tourism exhibition NICE-2025 (Nepal-India-China-Exhibition) has begun in the tourism capital Pokhara from today. It is said that the exhibition is being launched with the aim of attracting more and more foreign tourists from neighboring countries India and China.

More than 600 people, including 80 buyers, 70 sellers and 75 international representatives from the tourism sector, are participating in the three-day exhibition.

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Nepal Chapter has said that the exhibition is being organized in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board, Pokhara Tourism Council and other government and private sector partners and stakeholders.

The exhibition is expected to bring together government and private sector tourism and stakeholder organizations from the three countries to share professional experiences, expand networks and create business opportunities.

Pokhara is becoming a destination for nature lovers as well as adventure enthusiasts. Situated at an altitude of 822 meters above sea level, Pokhara is also known as the city of lakes and the gateway to the Himalayas and trekking routes. From here, three of the world's 14 highest peaks, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna-1 and Manaslu, can be seen.

Organized with the slogan 'NICE for MICE and More', the exhibition aims to promote Pokhara not only as a trekking and adventure tourism center but also as an attractive destination for MICE tourism (i.e. meetings, conferences, incentives, weddings and other celebrations, festivals, ceremonies, fairs and exhibitions).

PATA Nepal Chapter Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Suresh Singh Budal said that the exhibition was organized with the aim of promoting Nepal's tourism potential and integrated business opportunities in two major economies and tourism source markets, India and China.

On the second day of the exhibition, on Falgun 13, the Knowledge Forum will share knowledge with tourism experts on topics such as 'Visa Destination Insights: Supporting the Tourism Ecosystem to Sustainable Hospitality from Construction to Operation'. The exhibition will also feature BTU exhibitions, business meetings and networking sessions.

The exhibition is expected to help attract more tourists from India and China to Nepal. It is also believed that the exhibition will help promote tourism potential and integrated business. The program will help further strengthen trade relations by enhancing business networks and collaboration between the three countries, especially in the fields of tourism, hospitality and related industries.

Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya said that it was an important and historic moment for world-renowned travel companies, tour operators, tourism experts, and international representatives of organizing organizations from Nepal, India, and China, who will manage the travel of about 200 million tourists for the first time in the context of Pokhara Visit Year 2025, to gather in Pokhara.

He expressed confidence that the international exhibition would play an important role in inviting expected tourists in the future. He said that it would further strengthen tourism, trade, and cultural relations between Nepal, India, and China.

“This special event will become a bridge for our regional cooperation and prosperity,” said Metropolitan City Mayor Acharya. “To strengthen trade, tourism, and partnership, the support and participation of all of us is indispensable.”

Pokhara Tourism Council Chairman Taranath Pahari said that the exhibition will be of special importance in promoting Pokhara’s tourism.

"The Expo will also further highlight Pokhara's tourism potential," he said. "This will be an important achievement for the promotion of tourism in the entire country, including Pokhara, as well as for the trilateral tourism partnership."
