Feb 24, Kathmandu- Lalitpur Metropolitan City has started demolishing the huts on the eastern side of 'Nhu Pukhu' in Lagankhel, Metropolitan City-5, using a dozer. The metropolis run dozer over on temporary and unauthorized structures, including the ward office of Ward No. 5, on Monday morning to preserve and reconstruct Nhu Pokhari.

The structures were demolished in the presence of Metropolitan Mayor Chiribabu Maharjan.

The ward office in front of the District Court in Lagankhel, Lalitpur, and 16 nearby shutters have been demolished using a dozer. After the building and shutters were removed, the historical and cultural heritage of Nhu Pukhu is now visible from the road.

The metropolis has also demolished the building encroached by Namuna Machhindra School in Lagankhel and started the construction of Saptapatal Pond.
