Feb 24, Kathmandu- Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba and Azerbaijani State Minister for Foreign Affairs Elnur Mammadov held a bilateral meeting in Geneva today.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 58th High-Level Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral interests and mutual concerns. During the meeting, Minister Dr. Deuba congratulated Azerbaijan on the successful conclusion of the 29th United Nations Conference on Climate Change.
Minister Dr. Deuba said that Nepal and Azerbaijan, as members of the G77 organization, have been jointly raising the problems of developing countries at international forums.
Minister Dr. Deuba praised Azerbaijan's commitment in the field of climate change and said that both countries will continue to raise a common voice at international forums regarding the impact of climate change on developing countries in the coming days.
She also invited Azerbaijan to participate in the upcoming May, as Nepal is trying to attract high-level participation from the international community by organizing the Sagarmatha Dialogue program with the main theme of climate change, mountains, and the future of humanity.
