KU directs to provide allowances prescribed by the commission to resident doctors

Feb 27, Kathmandu- Kathmandu University (KU) School of Medical Sciences has directed its medical colleges to provide subsistence allowance to resident doctors.

KU has directed to implement the decision of the Medical Education Commission to provide the prescribed subsistence allowance to resident doctors studying at the postgraduate (PG) level.

'...As per the directive, it is requested to provide the eighth-level subsistence allowance to resident doctors studying in postgraduate educational programs as provided by public educational institutions,' the letter said.

KU sent a letter with instructions to 10 medical colleges and dental colleges on Thursday.

The commission's meeting on 25th Magh had decided to provide subsistence allowance to resident doctors studying in private medical colleges as per the eighth-level of health services.

The eighth-level health services have been receiving Rs 48,373.
