Mar 01, Kathmandu- Armed Police Force (APF) has arrested two people with brown sugar in Bhadrapur, Jhapa. Sudip BK, 24, a resident of Kawajit, Bhanu Municipality-12, Tanahun District, and Hiralal BK, 27, a resident of Singhiya, Ramdhuni Municipality-3, Sunsari District, were arrested with brown sugar.

The Armed Police Force has recovered 301 grams of brown sugar along with plastic from them. The BOP Maheshpur team under the proposed Border Security Force Bhadrapur of the Armed Police Force Nepal had checked them at the suspension bridge in Mechipari, Bhadrapur 3, on Friday evening at 6 pm, while they were coming from India on a scooter bearing the number Ba 90 Pa 1675. The Armed Police Force had searched their bodies and also checked the scooter. 298 grams of brown sugar was found in three packets hidden inside the battery box of the scooter and 3 grams of brown sugar in one packet.

They had purchased the brown sugar from the Indian border market and were trying to send it to Kathmandu. The Nepali market value of the brown sugar recovered by the Armed Police Force is estimated to be 3.5 to 4 million. The Armed Police Force has handed over the brown sugar, cash worth 16,410 rupees, two mobile phones and the scooter to the Ward Police Office, Bhadrapur for necessary action.
