Birat Gold Cup football Tournament To Start From Monday

Mar 02, Kathmandu- The Birat Gold Cup football tournament is starting from Monday. The preparations for the night tournament to be held at the Shahid Stadium in Biratnagar have been completed, informed Navin Rijal, coordinator of the organizing committee of the Virat Gold Cup football tournament.

Ten teams, including two Indians, will participate in the tournament organized with the slogan of "Developing Football with Biratnagar". Tomorrow's opening match will be between the Morang FC of the organizer Rijal and the Southern Samiti Football Club of Kolkata.

Addressing a press conference on Sunday, coordinator Rijal said that the ticket price for the tournament has been fixed at Rs 200. He said that buying a single ticket will provide a benefit of up to Rs 2,000. He said that showing the Gold Cup ticket will provide discounts in various areas.

The winning team of the tournament will receive a cash prize of Rs 1.1 million and the runner-up will receive Rs 500,000. The best coach, goalkeeper and highest scorer will receive Rs 15,000 each.

The best player of the daily match will receive Rs 11,000 and the best player of the day will receive Rs 51,000 as prizes. He said that it is estimated that Rs 13.5 million will be spent to complete the Gold Cup.
