Agreement Between Nepal And India On Habitat Development

Mar 03, Kathmandu- Nepal and India have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the development of the human settlements. The agreement was signed on Monday during the visit of Drinking Water Minister Pradeep Yadav to India. Minister Yadav on behalf of Nepal and Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil of the Government of India have signed the MoU on the development of the drinking water, sanitation and hygiene (human settlements) sector.

According to E. Ram Kumar Shrestha, Director General of the Department of Drinking Water and Sewerage Management, the goal of this agreement between Nepal and India is to develop drinking water resources, provide access to clean water, promote sanitation, manage waste, and strengthen the efforts of the Government of Nepal.
