Trump Orders End To Cyber Operations Against Russia

Mar 03, Kathmandu- The US cyber operation against Russia in the Ukraine war has been suspended.

The cyber operation was suspended after US President Donald Trump ordered the closure of cyber operations against Russia. This will create additional problems for Ukraine in gathering information in the war against Russia. Trump's order came after a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House. However, Pentagon intelligence officials have said that the order was given before the meeting with Zelensky.

The purpose of Trump's order is to advance negotiations with Russia to end the war in Ukraine. The Trump administration is reviewing all actions against Russia. However, this was not publicly announced. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that it is necessary to bring Russia to the negotiating table on the Ukraine issue. He also mentioned that it is not possible to bring him to the negotiating table by adopting an antagonistic attitude towards Putin.

US officials have said that it is common for such missions to be blocked before diplomatic and sensitive talks between the two countries. However, Russia is said to be constantly trying to penetrate American intelligence networks. Russia has made such attempts several times since Trump took office. Attacks on American hospitals and cyber networks have increased in recent years. During the Biden administration, reports emerged that Russia was trying to influence the US election with cyber attacks. The US secretly launched cyber missions against Russia to prevent this.
