Online Ticketing Begun At All Counters In The New Bus Park

Mar 03, Kathmandu- All ticket counters at the New Bus Park in Gongabu, which handles public transport across the country, have started issuing bus tickets through an online system.

In order to make the country's only national bus park, New Bus Park, technology-friendly and provide convenient services to passengers, online ticketing has been started from all 47 ticket counters inside the bus park.

In New Bus Park, operated by Lhotse Multipurpose Pvt. Ltd in an agreement with the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, the bus park's ticket counter has been moved to an online system in collaboration with transport entrepreneurs, informed Pankaj Malla, Head of Human Resources at Lotse Multipurpose Pvt. Ltd.

Currently, passengers are travelling to 70 districts across the country through public transport from the bus park operated in Gongabu, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-26. In addition, vehicles are travelling to Sindhupalchowk, Okhaldhunga, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Khotang and other districts from Koteshwor.

Apart from the new bus park, vehicles are currently travelling to various districts from Kalanki, Old Bus Park, Gaushala, Koteshwor and Sohrakhutte in the capital. Kathmandu Metropolitan City is working with the goal of making all vehicles travel through the new bus park.

In 2056 BS, the new bus park was brought into operation by signing an agreement under the ‘Public-Private Partnership’ between the Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and the Chairman of Lotse Multi-Purpose Pvt. Ltd.

Separate bus park areas have been constructed within the bus park for parking buses coming from outside districts and buses operating within the valley.

The new bus park currently has a parking space for 800 vehicles. Currently, 350 to 400 vehicles are plying from the bus park to various districts.
