Mar 04, Kathmandu- The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has expressed its gratitude to US President Donald Trump, the US Congress and the American people for their support during this difficult time. The Verkhovna Rada said in a statement that “the importance of US support is incomparable.”

The Ukrainian parliament highly appreciated the US support for the country’s independence and territorial integrity and expressed confidence that Trump’s role would be decisive in establishing peace. It praised the partnership in security assistance and mineral exploration and stressed the need to further strengthen strategic relations.

The parliament’s statement came after a tense meeting in the Oval Office between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Trump. The 450-seat Ukrainian parliament, in a statement published on the parliamentary website on Monday evening, stressed the decisive role of US assistance. The statement said, “We welcome President Donald Trump’s initiative to start a dialogue process aimed at securing peace.”

The statement added, “On behalf of the Ukrainian people, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expresses its heartfelt gratitude to President Donald Trump, the Congress of the United States, and the American people for their firm and continued support for the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine.” It also noted that at this time, US support is more important than ever.

The parliament expressed confidence that Trump’s mediation efforts will play a decisive role in the early cessation of hostilities and the establishment of peace in Ukraine, Europe, and the entire world. The Rada stressed the need to further develop the strategic partnership with the United States, especially in the exploration of key minerals.
