Mar 06, Kathmandu- The risk of wasting 140 megawatts of electricity from the Tanahun Hydropower Project under construction in Jhaputar, Rishing Rural Municipality-1, Tanahun has increased.
The risk of wasting 140 megawatts of electricity has increased due to delays in the construction of the transmission line while the work inside the underground power house of the project is in the final stages of completion.
Project Chief Shyamji Bhandari informed that electromechanical work is currently underway at the power house under Package 2 of the project.
"The headrace tunnel is being dug, penstock pipe is being installed, welding and concreting is being done," he said. "So far, 66 percent physical progress has been made in Package 2."
There has been little progress in the construction of the transmission line under Package 3. Project Chief Bhandari says that the delay is due to the forest area.
