Mar 06, Kathmandu- A Nepali youth has been arrested in Nashik. Bikire Yadav, a resident of Satpur, was arrested on Tuesday night on charges of murdering his wife by strangling her throat in Panchavati Kshetri.
The deceased woman is also a Nepali and her name is Amrita Kumari Yadav, the news reports.
The police have produced Bikire in court. The court has allowed him to be kept in police custody for three days, said Satyajit Amle, police inspector of Nashik taluka police station.
Amrita's body was found a week ago in Chandashi, on the outskirts of Nashik city. While searching the nearby police stations for missing person reports, a complaint matching the deceased's description was found. In the complaint, the husband had filed a complaint at the Panchavati police station stating that his wife was missing. When the deceased's husband was called to the police station for questioning, the news reports state that Bikeri himself confessed to killing his wife.
The police say that the accused used to work in construction. Shortly after their marriage, he began to suspect that Amrita was having an affair. On February 28, he took Amrita to Panchavati in a rented vehicle. After reaching a secluded place, he allegedly snatched the scarf that his wife was wearing and tied it around her neck before killing her. Police say that he immediately went to the police station and filed a complaint that his wife was missing.
