Mar 09, Kathmandu- At least 92 people have died from cholera in Sudan’s White Nile state in the past two weeks.
A total of 2,718 patients were admitted to the cholera treatment centre at the Ministry of Health’s Kosti Teaching Hospital, supported by MSF, between 20 February and 5 March.
The wave of waterborne cholera outbreaks began on 16 February after a massive power outage following the launch of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) at the Um-Dabakir power station.
As of Tuesday, the Sudanese Ministry of Health announced that the number of cholera cases in the country since July 2024 had reached 57,135, including 1,506 deaths.
