Fifth National Labor And Employment Conference Begins Today

Mar 10, Kathmandu- The National Labor and Employment Conference organized by the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security has begun today. The conference, which began with the slogan of "Expansion of production and productivity, sustainable basis for domestic employment", will last for two days.

The conference will be inaugurated by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. The conference will feature working papers on various topics and panel discussions on various topics.

The ministry has stated that it is organizing the fifth National Labor and Employment Conference as part of the Decade of Internal Employment Promotion.

The ministry claims that the involvement of the three levels of government and the private sector, the expansion of social security and insurance in the formal and informal sectors, and the knowledge, skills, and capital gained from foreign employment will help the productive sector.

The ministry believes that the dimensions of good governance in immigration, the formalization of the informal sector, and the promotion of internal employment will be addressed.

The conference will be attended by 500 people, including government at all three levels, the private sector, trade unions, businesspeople and researchers related to employment and labor issues, experts, development partners, non-governmental sectors, and youth, related to employment and productivity growth.

As per the discussions and suggestions made at the conference, necessary policy and legal reforms will be made to realize the long-term vision of achieving the sixteen plans and sustainable development goals of Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepalese.

The government had previously held employment conferences in 2054, 2061, 2069, and 2076 BS.
