Mar 10, Kathmandu- A meeting of the Socialist Front is scheduled to be held today at 4 pm. The meeting of officials held at the residence of CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) in Khumaltar in the morning concluded that the situation in the country is serious due to recent Hindutva and royalist activism.
Secretary Devendra Poudel informed that a meeting of the front has been called to discuss how to deal with the serious situation. He insisted that the meeting did not take any decision. Poudel also said that it was decided to hold a counter-rally to resist the reactionary forces. He said that the Maoists will take a decision only after discussing it in the front meeting.
"The latest political situation in the country has been reviewed. The chairman briefed that politics is becoming serious due to the activity of Hindutva, reactionary and royalist groups on the streets. He said that since the national and international situation is unfavorable, republican and leftist forces should unite. After discussing with the parties affiliated with the Socialist Front, it has been decided to hold a protest rally. The date has not been set. The meeting to be held tomorrow will decide on this," he said.
Poudel said that the campaign will continue in Bara, Parsa and Chitwan under the East-West Postal Route. He said that the next meeting will decide on the remaining areas.
