Mar 10, Kathmandu- Eight people who went to rescue a person who fell to their death from a cliff in Swamikartik Khapar Rural Municipality in the eastern northern part of the district have been rescued safely. On Sunday afternoon, Puse Bhandari, a local of Fayal village of the same rural municipality-2, fell to his death from a cliff while returning home after going fishing in the Karnali River.
The District Police Office, Bajura, has stated that eight locals from the same village, including security personnel, who went to rescue Bhandari, who had fallen from the cliff, stayed overnight on the banks of the Karnali River at the foot of the cliff and were rescued through rafting.
Locals and police who went to rescue Bhandari, who died after falling from a cliff, were rescued safely this morning by rafting from Dhulachaur in Himali Rural Municipality, informed Dev Chaudhary, Police Inspector of the District Police Office, Bajura. According to him, although news of one person dying after falling from a cliff was received on Sunday night, they stayed at the scene as it was already night and it was not possible to bring the body back from the cliff. Today, everyone has been rescued safely with the help of rafting in the Karnali River.
Bhandari fell from a cliff while fishing. Police said that the body has been handed over to the relatives after completing the legal formalities.
