Heart Disease Treatment Service Launched At Hetauda Hospital

Mar 11, Kathmandu- Heart disease treatment services have been expanded at Hetauda Hospital in Makawanpur. Chief Minister of the province, Bahadur Singh Lama, inaugurated the heart disease treatment service (cardio) at the hospital during a program on Tuesday.

Hetauda Hospital's Acting Medical Superintendent Dr. Ram Chandra Sapkota informed that the hospital has been expanded to provide outpatient services for the time being. According to him, general treatment services will be provided at the hospital for the time being.

Dr. Sapkota, a cardiologist who studied at the Teaching Hospital on a scholarship, said that the service at Hetauda Hospital has been expanded with the deployment of Dr. Bikesh Shrestha, a cardiologist who studied at the Teaching Hospital on a scholarship, to Hetauda Hospital. He said that the service was started by using equipment worth Rs 10 million provided by the Rotary Club of Makawanpur. The equipment had been lying idle for the past one and a half years due to the lack of an expert doctor to operate the equipment at the hospital.

He said that Hetauda Hospital is providing services to 1,500 patients in various services. Currently, dialysis services are being provided in 3 shifts at Hetauda Hospital. Accordingly, currently, the hospital has 2 separate labs for emergency and other patients, 3 pharmacies for emergency, outpatient and admission, and senior citizens. He said that preparations are being made to manage the pharmacy of the ICU and ward in the hospital. He said that work is being done to repair and improve the damaged equipment in the hospital and connect it to the service flow.
