Mar 13, Kathmandu- Security arrangements have been tightened in the Kathmandu Valley today to maintain order and ensure public safety during the Holi celebrations. Traffic checkings have been intensified in all three valley districts - Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur - since this morning, informed Senior Superintendent of Police Binod Ghimire, Chief of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office.
According to him, this time, not only will traffic enforcement be taken, but they will also be stopped on the roads throughout the day to prevent them from celebrating Holi. "Anyone who violates the rules will be taken to the traffic checkpoint and their vehicles will be stopped at the same place throughout the day," he said.
For that, more than 120 checkpoints have been set up in the valley and police have been mobilized. Traffic police and Janpath police have jointly launched a check campaign.
He also said that joint mobilization has been carried out at every place and necessary equipment and teams have been jointly deployed for alcohol and drug consumption.
The police have requested people to play Holi only with their close friends and acquaintances. They have requested that Holi be celebrated in a way that increases mutual brotherhood and in a harmonious and cultural manner.
