Lockdown in Sankardev campus, ISU Elections Uncertain

Mar 14, Kathmandu- The Shankardev Campus has been locked down after the ISU President misused ISU funds to enroll students ahead of the upcoming ISU elections on Chaitra 5.

The UML-affiliated ANNISU has locked down the campus after the ISU President admitted more than 400 students from the fund in the name of poor, backward, disabled and talented students.

"We have demanded an investigation after the SBU president himself indulged in wrongdoing like fake admissions. The admission of fake students should be cancelled, otherwise there will be no environment for elections," said a leader close to Shankardev ANNISU.

SBU president Sushant Basnet said, "The issue raised by other organizations is not an issue of his admissions, but information has come that ANNISU has admitted fake admissions. I have already told the campus head and the election officer that an investigation should be conducted."

Shankardev Campus ISU Election Officer Dhurva Subedi has issued a notice that the SBU elections have been postponed until further notice due to unusual circumstances.
