Teachers' Volleyball Tournament Begins In Sindhuli

Mar 14, Kathmandu- A municipal-level volleyball tournament has begun under the organization of the Kamalamai Municipal Committee of the Nepal National Teachers' Organization. The tournament, which will be held for three days, was inaugurated by the Deputy Mayor of the municipality, Manju Devkota.

He urged the continuation of the teachers' tournament, which was organized for the first time, in the coming days as well. He expressed confidence that the tournament will strengthen the sense of community in the school and community by increasing intimacy, cooperation and understanding among teachers.

He said that sports teach the importance of healthy competition, discipline, patience and hard work and it will also be inspiring for students. He mentioned that the competition has given a positive message. “The competition confirms that teachers are not limited to teaching only but are also good at sports, leadership and teamwork,” he said.

Nepal National Teachers’ Organization Kamalamai Municipal Committee Chairman Deepak Kumar Budhathoki informed that 11 teams from Kamalamai Municipality participated in the competition. The first place winner in the competition will be awarded Rs 20,000, the second place winner Rs 15,000 and the third place winner Rs 10,000 along with a medal.

He said that the competition will attract students to sports and develop sports culture. He said that the organizers expect that sports infrastructure will be developed at the school level after the competition is held.
