Nepal Defeated Hong Kong By 6 Wickets

Mar 14, Kathmandu- Nepal defeated Hong Kong by 6 wickets in the final match of the Women's Day Cup T20 International Cricket Series group stage.

Nepal achieved the target of 105 runs set by Hong Kong with 3 balls to spare, losing 4 wickets. Nepal's Samjhana Khadka scored 47 runs and Pooja Mahato scored 20 runs not out. Hong Kong's Emma Lai and Kaur Mahekdeep took 1 wicket each. Two Nepali players were run out.

Earlier, Hong Kong, who won the toss and elected to bat at the Entebbe Cricket Oval in Uganda, scored 104 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Hong Kong's Shanjin Shahzad scored 54 runs. Nepal's Rajamaiti Airi took 3 wickets, and captain Indu Verma took 2 wickets.

Nepal has won 2 of 6 matches in the group stage of the competition. Now Nepal will play the playoffs on Sunday after finishing third. Similarly, the team that will play the final in the top 2 will be decided after the ongoing match between Uganda and Namibia.

Nepal was defeated by Uganda by 40 runs yesterday. In the previous meeting, Nepal defeated Uganda by one wicket. Similarly, Nepal lost both matches to Namibia and one match to Hong Kong. The final match of the competition will also be held on Sunday.
