Mar 15, Kathmandu- A fire in the Sailung forest of Tokarpur, Doramba Sailung Rural Municipality-3, Ramechhap, has gone out of control.

The forest fire that broke out since Friday morning has not yet been brought under control. Local Rajuram Pathak informed that the fire has gone out of control.

The fire that broke out near Chhangkhola forest in Tokarpur on Friday has now spread towards Sailung. The fire has damaged the local forests of Laligurans, Chhare Chhap Pakha, and Budhapani Community Forests.

The Nepal Army, Nepal Police, locals and others have been mobilized to control the fire, but it has not been brought under control.

Although the fire was somewhat controlled on Saturday morning, Pathak said that the fire flared up again after the wind picked up in the afternoon.

The Sailung forest is considered a very important forest from a biological perspective. The fire has caused great damage in the forest, where there are trees, herbs and wild animals of various species such as gurans, sallo etc.
