Mar 17, Kathmandu- Traders have become agitated after a group of robbers in a jeep robbed a gold and silver shop in Mahottari.
The robbery took place at a gold and silver shop (Shivashanti Jewelers) in Padaul Bazaar, Balwa Municipality-3. The robbers took away 20 tolas of gold, 150,000 rupees in cash, a locker and a camera hard disk, said shop owner Arun Kumar Shah.
According to locals, five robbers came in a jeep to rob the shop on Saturday night. They were caught on CCTV cameras of other shops as they fled towards Bardibas.
Traders have closed the market, saying the police administration has failed to provide security. They have taken to the streets to protest by burning tires.
