Mar 17, Kathmandu- One person has been seriously injured in a police firing in Sabila Municipality of Dhanusha. The injured person has been identified as local Santosh Yadav, said Madhesh Province Police Chief DIG Lalmani Acharya. Police opened fire while trying to control the crowd as tensions between the two communities escalated on Monday afternoon.
According to DIG Acharya, the Yadav community had put up a board reading 'Yadav Chowk' at a chowk in Sabaila Municipality. After people from other communities removed the board, a dispute arose between the two communities.
“The dispute escalated after the board was removed. When they tried to resolve the dispute, they attacked the police. The police then used force to control the incident. A person named Santosh Yadav was seriously injured after being shot by the police,” said DIG Acharya.
There was also a dispute between the two communities on Sunday. Tear gas was fired to control the incident on Sunday.
