Sompal and Kushal share 58 runs to secure Army's fifth win

Mar 17, Kathmandu- Tribhuvan Army Club has won its fifth consecutive match in the Prime Minister's Cup One-Day National Cricket Tournament.

Army defeated APF Club of Armed Police Force by 3 wickets in a match at XtraTech Oval in Rupandehi on Monday. APF has lost two of its five matches.

Chasing the target of 142 runs set by APF, Army achieved it in 42.5 overs, losing 7 wickets.

For Army, Kushal Malla scored 31 not out and Sompal Kami contributed 22 not out. The Army's victory was possible due to a partnership of 58 not out for the eighth wicket between the two. When Army had scored 87 runs and lost 7 wickets, Sompal and Kushal had taken the Army to victory.

Earlier, Bivek Yadav scored 26 runs for the Army while the other batters were dismissed cheaply.

In bowling, APF captain Rohit Poudel, Kamal Singh Airee and Amar Singh Rateula took 2 wickets each.

After winning the toss, Army elected to field and batted first, APF was all out for 141 runs in 42.3 overs. Sandeep Jora scored 65 runs for APF. The other batters were dismissed cheaply.

In bowling, Army's Akash Chand took 4 wickets while Sompal Kami took 3 wickets. Shahab Alam had 2 wickets.
