Mar 18, Kathmandu- The ISU elections have been postponed in 8 of the 22 constituent campuses of Tribhuvan University in the Kathmandu Valley. The university had set the date for the ISU elections in 62 constituent and other affiliated colleges for today.

However, the elections in these colleges have been postponed due to the lockdown. At Ratna Rajyalakshmi Campus (RR) and Amrit Science Campus, ISU elections were postponed at the last moment.

Similarly, the ISU elections in Saraswati Campus, Bishwo Bhasa Campus, Nepal Law Campus, Shankardev Campus, Trichandra Campus and Public Youth Campus were already postponed. In RR and Amrit Science, the elections were postponed due to the lockdown from midnight yesterday.

In RR, the election was postponed at the last minute after the UML-affiliated ANNFSU and the Unified Socialist Party-affiliated ANNISU staged a lockout. Similarly, in Amrit Science Campus, the election was postponed after the Akhil Krantikari staged a lockout, creating a controversy over the hostel issue.

Apart from that, the election process has not been able to proceed due to the lockout of ANNISU and others in Saraswati. Similarly, the election has been postponed in Vishwa Bhasha due to the lockout of Akhil Krantikari. There is a lock-down of ANNISU in Nepal Law Campus. Due to which the election has been postponed.

Elections could not be held in Shankardev due to the lockout by Akhil Krantikari and others. Elections could not be held in Trichandra and Public Youth Campus due to the lockout by NSU.

Similarly, elections have been postponed to the 8th in Tribhuvan University Central Campus. The election date has also been set for the 7th in Padmakanya Campus, Bagbazar.

Apart from these, elections are ongoing in Thapathali Engineering College, Sanothimi Multiple Campus, Ayurveda Campus, Jana Prashasan Campus, Maharajgunj Medical Campus, Maharajgunj Nursing Campus, Nepal Karmas Campus, Patan Multiple Campus, Pulchowk Engineering Campus, Bhaktapur Multiple Campus, Lalit Kala Campus and Mahendra Ratna Campus.
