Mar 20, Kathmandu- In the first eight months of the current fiscal year, 14,307 electric vehicles worth Rs 17.39 billion 21.58 million have been imported to Nepal from various countries.
In the same period of the last financial year, 13 thousand 7 electric vehicles worth 16 billion 495 million 885 thousand rupees were imported in Nepal.
According to the Customs Department, the state has received Rs 10.47 billion 7.338 billion in taxes as of the end of Falgun due to the import of vehicles.
According to the department, Nepal has imported electric vehicles from China, India, as well as the US, Germany, Korea, and Indonesia. In the past eight months, the largest number of vehicles imported from China was 11,550 units worth 13.7 billion 35.84 billion rupees. From which the state has received 8.48 billion 76 million 2 thousand rupees in tax.
Similarly, vehicles worth Rs 3.45 billion 45 million 63 thousand have been imported from India in the past eight months. From which the state has received Rs 1.77 billion 32 million in tax.
According to the department, 1 vehicle worth Rs 1.877 billion has been imported from Indonesia, 3 vehicles worth Rs 168.69 billion from Korea, 24 vehicles worth Rs 193.56 billion from Germany, and 5 vehicles worth Rs 214 million from the US.
