Federalism is the right place to build an egalitarian society: Communications Minister Gurung

Mar 20, Kathmandu- Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung has claimed that federalism is the appropriate state system for building an egalitarian society.

He said this at a discussion program on 'Economic, Social and Cultural Rights of the Chepang Community' organized in Kathmandu today. He said that the economic, cultural and social level of indigenous and tribal peoples can be raised through a federal state structure. He said that federalism is an appropriate place to practice to eliminate all kinds of inequalities, including class and regional. He said that the federal structure will play an important role in reaching the backward and marginalized classes at the policy-making level as well as various state bodies.

Minister Gurung said that federalism is necessary to strengthen national unity. He said that those who do not understand federalism say that federalism has divided the country.
