Mar 21, Kathmandu- A detainee who escaped from Patan Hospital in Lalitpur has been found in Kanchanpur.

Police arrested him last night near the Gaddachauki checkpoint in Kanchanpur, said SSP Shyam Krishna Adhikari of the District Police Range, Lalitpur.

19-year-old Deepak Saud of Achham, who was in the custody of Police Circle Satdobato, escaped from Patan Hospital around 12:30 pm on Wednesday.

The rape accused was taken to Patan Hospital for treatment as he fell ill while in custody.

Saud, who entered the hospital toilet, escaped through a window.

Police found him on Thursday night and are bringing him to Kathmandu, SSP Adhikari informed.

"There is a relative near the border. He was found from there. Work is underway to bring him to Lalitpur," he said, "He is being brought by ship from Dhangadhi."

Saud is accused of raping a 17-year-old minor. He was detained for 18 days on that charge.
