Mar 21, Kathmandu- The Public Accounts Committee has formed a subcommittee to study complaints.
The Public Accounts Committee under the House of Representatives, which met at Singha Durbar today, is going to study and discuss the complaints received by the committee by classifying them into various subjects. The meeting decided to form seven subcommittees for discussion, said committee chairman Hrishikesh Pokharel. He informed that the subcommittees will be formed to discuss all the complaints received by the committee by giving equal priority.
The subcommittee, named the Complaint Study Task Force by the committee, has said that it will decide on all the complaints within 15 days. Before the task force makes a decision, the committee secretariat has also decided to receive feedback on the complaints within 7 days. It has also been instructed to submit a study report on the complaints filed regarding Pokhara International Airport and Gautam Buddha International Airport within 15 days. He informed that the committee has received complaints under 20 headings. Based on the complaints filed with the committee, the task force has been authorized to study and discuss the complaints filed on issues such as Nepal Telecom, Telecommunications Authority, Ministry of Urban Development, Cooperatives, Foreign Employment, Securities and Exchange Board of India, Ministry of Health, Crusher Industry, Central Investigation Bureau, Nepal Scout, Pokhara International Airport, Gautam Buddha International Airport and others and recommend a decision, said Chairman Pokharel.
The Accounts Committee has received more than 114 complaints under various headings. The complaints received by the committee have been categorized into 20 different headings and 48 complaints will be studied and investigated through a task force. A task force has been formed under the coordination of Nepali Congress MP Sanjay Kumar Gautam to study and recommend a decision on 16 complaints other than the complaints that have been classified thematically in the committee. In the Public Accounts Committee, complaints have been filed by Nepal Airlines Corporation Executive Chairman Yubaraj Adhikari, alleging that businessmen have been black-marketing by increasing the prices of cement and rods. Complaints have been filed in the committee against irregularities and corruption in the consultancy service for the construction of power transmission lines by the Nepal Office of MCC.
