Elderly Scrap Collector Discovered Dead In Bhaktapur

Mar 23, Kathmandu- An elderly man who worked as a scrap collector in Bhaktapur has been found dead. According to police, the body of an elderly man was found at 5:55 am on Sunday in Bode, Thimi Municipality-9, Madhyapur.

The body of 66-year-old Om Prakash Rai of Kepilasgadhi Rural Municipality-2, Khotang, was found in the parking lot of Picnic Sports in Bode Nilbarahi, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Dhundiraj Neupane, spokesperson for the Bhaktapur District Police Range.

Rai was living in the hut. He used to pick up the goods of the cart. According to Neupane, there are injuries on his right ear and head. The police have started an investigation on the suspicion of murder.

“The body has been sent to KMC Hospital for postmortem after a report has been prepared,” Neupane said. Police have not yet made any arrests during the investigation into the suspicion of murder".
