Driver dies, co-driver seriously injured after truck falls into Trishuli

Mar 25, Kathmandu- The driver of a truck that fell into the Trishuli River this morning has died. The deceased has been identified as Ram Narayan Yadav, 35, of Rautahat, according to Chitwan Police.

Police have stated that the driver, who was seriously injured in the accident, died during treatment at Bharatpur Hospital. Police have stated that the co-driver, 19-year-old Asundra Kumar Yadav from Rautahat, who was seriously injured in the same accident, is undergoing treatment at the New Medical College, Bharatpur.

At around 6 am this morning, a coal-laden truck bearing Bagmati Pradesh 03-001 Kha 4874 lost control and fell into the Trishuli River from a place called Chaudhkilo on the Muglin-Narayangadh road section.

Immediately after receiving the news of the accident, a team led by Deputy Inspector of Police Thakur Prasad Paneru was deployed from the Area Police Office, Jugedi.

According to the police, the truck has been completely damaged due to the accident. Half of the truck appears to have sunk into the Trishuli River. Police have stated that efforts are underway to remove the truck.
