'Cooperation with Korea in the tourism sector is indispensable'

Mar 28, Kathmandu- The 7th annual celebration of the establishment of the Korea Tours and Training Operators Association of Nepal (KOTAN) has concluded with the KOTAN Night program.

The seventh annual festival program was grandly concluded on Thursday at Hotel Mercure Kathmandu in the presence of officials from Kotan and officials from the Korean Embassy, ​​KOICA, EPS, Nepal Tourism Board Hotel Association, and various tourism-related organizations.

In his speech at the program, the organization's chairman Amar Bahadur Shahi said that the organization's main objective is to provide Korean tourists with a safe trekking experience and to increase the number of Korean tourists in the coming days. He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the cooperation with the Korean Embassy since its establishment.

Addressing the program, the chief guest, Korean Ambassador Park Tae-young, expressed his gratitude for the important role played by Kotan in bringing Korean tourists to Nepal and said that the embassy is committed to promoting Korean tourism in Nepal.

Ambassador Park stated that tourism in Nepal is the country's main source of income, and if advertisements are made with attention to the safety of tourists, he illustrated the possibility of 100,000 Korean tourists visiting Nepal if only 2 percent of that number visit Nepal, citing the fact that 5 million Koreans enjoy trekking in the mountains of Korea every week.
