Vehicle Entry Prohibited On Main Road In Tinkune-Baneshwor Area

Mar 28, Kathmandu- Police have tightened security in Kathmandu to prevent any untoward incident during the demonstrations of republicans and monarchists. Vehicles have been banned from entering the main road in the Tinkune-Baneshwor area. The road from Ratna Park to Bhadrakali, Exhibition Road, and Bhrikutimandap has been completely closed. Demonstrations by both sides are set to begin shortly.

The Samajwadi Morcha is holding a protest rally at Bhrikuti Mandap and the royalists are holding a protest rally at Tinkune.

After the Samajwadi Front built a platform on the road in the middle of Tundikhel, traffic in that area has been blocked since morning. Similarly, traffic has been disrupted in Tinkune, Baneshwor, Maitighar and other areas of Kathmandu. After the traffic in that area was affected, vehicles have been diverted. Due to which, traffic jams have occurred in other areas, according to the traffic police.

A protest by royalists is being held under the leadership of medical professional Durga Prasai. For this, the royalists have built a platform in Tinkune, Kathmandu. Both sides have claimed to demonstrate their strength.
