Mar 28, Kathmandu- Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli held discussions with the heads of all four security agencies before the cabinet meeting on Friday night.
He briefed security officials on the developments that have unfolded after the pro-monarchy protest turned violent.
Along with Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel, Nepal Police Chief Deepak Thapa, Armed Police Force Chief Raju Aryal, and National Investigation Department Chief Hutraj Thapa participated in the discussion.
During that time, an official said that they briefed the protesters of the monarchy that they were also provoking the police.
Security officials told the prime minister that one of the two dead was shot and the Avenues Television journalist died after being repeatedly stoned by royalists. Twenty-two people were injured in the incident.
According to a briefing to the prime minister, police fired tear gas and air to bring the situation under control on Friday.
