Protest Rally In Banepa Against Journalist's Murder And Arson In Media Outlets

Mar 29, Kathmandu- The Kavre branch of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has held a protest rally in Banepa against the atrocities including the murder of journalists and arson attacks on media outlets.

The Federation held a rally in Banepa to protest the murder of journalist Suresh Rajak and the attacks and vandalism on media outlets during the chaotic and violent protests by the royalist forces in Kathmandu on Chaitra 15. The protest rally reached Chandani Chowk via Chardobato in Banepa and turned into a rally.

In the meeting, former presidents of the federation Bhojraj Timalsina, Bhola Thapa, Maheshraj Poudel, Motiram Timalsina, Nepal Press Union Kavre President Nagendra Adhikari, Press Chautari Nepal Kavre President Kedar Timalsina, former president of Press Center Nepal Kavre Rojan Tamang, president of Phonies Kavre Indra Bahadur Thapa, president of Sancharika Group Kavre Sunita Sapkota, president of National Federation of Photojournalists Kavre Keshavraj Poudel, district coordinator of Community Radio Broadcasting Forum Ramesh Neupane, president of Nepal Tamang Journalists Association Kavre Lok Bahadur Tamang, among others, condemned the attacks and murders on the press and requested to create an environment for free media work.

President Binod Kumar Neupane expressed his heartfelt tribute to journalist Suresh Rajak and said that no matter how much efforts are made to suppress the voices of journalists, their pens will not be stopped and instead their voices will become louder.
