Former King Gyanendra Fined With Rs. 793,000

Mar 29, Kathmandu- Kathmandu Metropolitan City has decided to fine former King Gyanendra Shah nearly eight hundred thousand rupees. The city has decided to fine Gyanendra seven hundred and ninety three thousand rupees for causing damage to public property during an event organized in Tinkune on Chaitra 15 (Friday).

The city has issued eight separate letters mentioning the name of the former king.

The Metropolis has imposed a fine of Rs 600,000 for polluting the environment by dumping garbage on roads and roadsides in Koteshwor, Jadibuti, Tinkune, Balkumari, Mahadevsthan and Sinamangal areas.

The Metropolis has imposed a fine of Rs 130,000 for vandalizing a fire engine of the New Road Fire Department used to put out the fire by throwing stones.

Similarly, a fine of Rs 40,000 has been imposed on the royalists for breaking trees, plants and railings in the Tinkune area where the event was held, and Rs 23,000 for vandalizing the island in Tinkune.

The Metropolitan City had also fined the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Rs 100,000 for littering and breaking the rally at the welcome event organized on February 25 when former King Gyanendra returned to Kathmandu from Pokhara.
