Samsung Bringing A Phone With An Ultrathin Display That Can Rotate 360 Degrees

Mar 29, Kathmandu- Samsung has filed a patent for a phone with an ultrathin display that can rotate 360 degrees. The recently filed patent claims that the foldable display will rotate completely outwards.

According to the patent details, this technology will allow users to make the phone smaller and carry it or change it to a larger screen according to their needs.

Foldable phones currently available on the market mostly fold inwards and can only rotate up to 180 degrees due to design limitations.

Samsung's new patent shows a new solution by developing a display that can rotate up to 360 degrees. The invention uses two different folding areas, which provide the ability to fold at different angles.

In addition to being Ultrathin Glass (UTG), specially designed first and second plates and adhesive layers will be used under its flexible screen. These plates will use lattice or striped patterns and soft and flexible materials such as silicone or polyurethane.

The company says that this will make it possible to fold smoothly and completely without damaging the screen. It will also have different (customizable) letters and fold axes for different folds. Similarly, the camera is said to work fully in each folding orientation.
