Mar 30, Kathmandu- Civil society leader Dr. Sundarmani Dixit has assisted Rs. 100,000 to the family of journalist Suresh Rajak, who lost his life in the Tinkune incident.
At a program organized to mark the 27th anniversary of the Reporters Club Nepal, Dr. Dixit handed over the amount to the club's president, Rishi Dhamala, and requested that it be provided to the family of the deceased Rajak.
Stating that the death of a journalist during the protest is a serious matter, he also demanded that the government ensure the safety of all media personnel.
Dr. Dixit also urged the government to provide treatment to the injured and relief funds to the deceased. He mentioned that he was confident that the government, as the guardian of everyone, would play that role.
