Mar 30, Kathmandu- A small plane crashed into a residential area in the US state of Minnesota on Saturday, causing a house fire, the US Federal Aviation Administration said.
The Socata TBM 7 aircraft crashed into the house at 12:20 pm local time on Saturday.
The pilot of the plane died in the crash, US media reported. Local media reported that no one on board survived, citing the Brooklyn Park Fire Department.
“The plane was en route from Des Moines International Airport in Iowa to Anoka County-Blaine Airport in Minneapolis when it crashed,” the US Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement.
Witnesses nearby told local TV station KRE 11 that a house in Brooklyn Park caught fire after the plane crashed.
Fire officials told a news conference that no one was home at the time of the crash and the fire. The US National Transportation Safety Board issued a statement saying that the crash is under investigation.
