Mar 31, Kathmandu- CPN (UML) MP Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai has accused former King Gyanendra Shah of sending some people from Nirmal Niwas to burn down people's houses with garlands.
Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday, MP Bhattarai said that the government should consider reducing the services provided to the former king, saying that he had broken the agreement he had made with the state. He asked whether the services provided to the former king would continue because the former king had broken the agreement he had made with the state. He demanded an answer from the government, asking whether the services provided to the former king would continue or not.
He said, "The government gave the former King Shah the honor of service as a former head of state. Today, Gyanendra Shah also broke that agreement. Therefore, today I want to ask a question through this parliament. Will the service facilities provided to him be maintained after the agreement is broken? I want to ask the government. He broke the agreement. He made the Lafangas the Janak Mandar. He sent them to stop the Tandav dance in Tinkune. I say it again. He sent the people from Nirmal Niwas to burn people's houses with garlands. Your agreement was broken. So what will happen to the service facilities provided to you? The government has to answer."
He said that kings other than Prithvi Narayan Shah and Bahadur Shah were unable to save the nation. He asked, "Where were the borders of Nepal and where are they today?"
