Mar 31, Kathmandu- Director Sanoj Mishra, who promised to bring Monalisa, who went viral from the Mahakumbha Mela, to Mumbai and make her an actress, has been arrested.

According to Indian media, he was arrested by the Delhi Police in a rape case. Earlier, the Delhi High Court had dismissed Mishra's bail plea.

Police said Mishra was accused of raping a young woman from a small town multiple times.

The girl had a dream of becoming an actress. Sanoj had called her promising her a role in a film. The victim said that Sanoj had physically abused her and threatened to get her a job in the film industry if she told anyone.

The victim said that on February 18, 2025, Sanoj took her to a hotel and had sexual intercourse with her and later reneged on the promise of marriage. During the investigation, medical records related to the abortion were also collected from Muzaffarnagar.

Mishra is accused of living in a live-in relationship with the woman in Mumbai for the past 4 years, forcing her to have three abortions and breaking her marriage promise.
