Mar 31, Kathmandu- Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is leaving for Thailand on Tuesday for an official visit and to participate in the 6th summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).
Prime Minister Oli is going on an official visit to Thailand at the friendly invitation of his Thai counterpart Phatthongthan Shinawatra. The visit of the delegation led by Prime Minister Oli has already been approved by the Council of Ministers meeting on Chaitra 24.
Prime Minister Oli has informed the Parliament that this is the first visit by a Nepali Prime Minister in the 65-year history of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Thailand.
"In the meantime, there has been a situation where people go here and there, like a transit point, but there has been no official visit. To put an end to that, this time, this is the first official visit by a Chief Executive from Nepal," Prime Minister Oli said while informing the House of Representatives meeting on Monday about the visit.
