UAE Grants Amnesty To Nepali Prisoners On The Occasion Of Ramadan And Eid

Apr 01, Kathmandu- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has granted amnesty to 116 Nepali prisoners on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and Eid.

“The Government of Nepal expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the Government of the United Arab Emirates for granting amnesty to 166 Nepali prisoners on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and Eid,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Tuesday.

Nepal has highly appreciated the amnesty granted to Nepalis by the UAE, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the amnesty was granted to them at the request of the Government of Nepal through the Nepali Embassy in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Similarly, Qatar had earlier also granted amnesty to 18 Nepali prisoners on the occasion of Ramadan and Eid. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude for the amnesty.
