Apr 01, Kathmandu- The government has appealed to the general public not to participate in the protests of the pro-monarchy protesters.
Announcing the decisions of the cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Minister for Communications and Information Technology and government spokesperson Prithvi Subba Gurung appealed on behalf of the government not to participate in the chaotic protests of the pro-monarchy protesters.
"The Ministry of Home Affairs has been instructed to investigate the truth and facts of the Tinkune incident, take action against the culprits and make arrangements to prevent such incidents from happening in the future," he said. "Also, the Government of Nepal sincerely appeals to the general public not to get involved in such chaotic activities."
He said that the Ministry of Health and Population has been given the responsibility to make arrangements for the treatment of those injured in the incident.
On Friday, Chaitra 15, the pro-monarchy protesters had protested in Tinkune, Kathmandu. Two people, including a journalist, lost their lives when the protest turned violent, and some private and government properties were vandalized and set on fire.
