Apr 04, Kathmandu- Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Poudel said that the government will expand citizen health services to all 753 local levels. Inaugurating the services of the National Ayurveda Panchakarma and Yoga Service Center, Budhanilkantha on Friday, Minister Poudel informed that the government is moving forward as per the plan to expand citizen health services to all municipalities.
He said that the government is trying to develop the Ayurveda sector comprehensively. He pledged to make arrangements in the budget of the coming fiscal year to extend citizen health services to all municipalities.
He mentioned that Ayurveda is the original system of Nepal as well as a way of life. Stating that Ayurveda is the culture and civilization of Nepal, he said that Nepal should become the hub of the Ayurveda sector. Minister Poudel emphasized that the world should be able to understand that Ayurveda originated from Nepal.
"What was the number of people with cancer 5 years ago and what is it today? Today, the number of women dying from cervical cancer is 4 a day," said Minister Poudel. "This was not the case 15 years ago." Minister Poudel said that the number of people with autism has tripled from what it was 5 years ago. If the number of patients continues to increase at this rate, it will be very difficult to provide treatment services.
‘There is a situation where the burden increases beyond the capacity of the state,’ said Minister Poudel. ‘That is why we should not increase the number of patients. How can we find a way to prevent them from getting sick?’ Minister Poudel said that efforts are being made to find ways to prevent healthy Nepalis or Nepalis from getting sick. ‘We have conducted a screening program extensively,’ said Minister Poudel. ‘We are trying to develop the Ayurveda sector extensively. Our citizen health service is reaching 753 municipalities.’
He said that in this budget, the budget is being arranged to extend citizen health services to all municipalities.
Minister Poudel said that all Nepalis need to know about the Ayurveda treatment system and Ayurveda health treatment system.
‘This is our way of life. It is also our culture and civilization,’ said Minister Poudel, ‘Nepal should have become a hub for Ayurveda. The word that it originated from Nepal should have spread to the world.’
Minister Poudel said that the government is looking into ways to prevent people from getting sick.
