Apr 05, Kathmandu- Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that there is a deep understanding between Nepal and India to resolve minor disputes through dialogue.
He made this statement while briefing a press conference organized at Tribhuvan International Airport on his return from Thailand, while informing about his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"We have made a determination – that we will continue to strengthen Nepal-India relations in a broader and more comprehensive manner and that even if there are minor issues that may arise in the neighborhood, we will communicate with each other and resolve them", Oli said.
He also expressed happiness that his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Modi was fruitful. "We discussed issues of mutual interest between the two sides. We discussed a wide range of issues", said Prime Minister Oli. "We had a fruitful meeting and I am happy. I have heard that he is also happy with the conversation".
Prime Minister Oli also said that there was more conversation this time than the conversation with Indian Prime Minister Modi last September.
"This time, the conversation was more friendly than that (September meeting), in terms of various areas of mutual cooperation, in terms of our investment areas, trade areas, as you mentioned, issues such as Pancheshwar, irrigation of Dodhara-Chandani from Mahakali, and many other things", he said.
Prime Minister Oli clarified that there was a conversation between the two prime ministers last September as well and that there was nothing like the talk in the media.
"We had a conversation between the two prime ministers last September. Nothing bad happened in September as you said", Oli said, "Nothing. What can I say bad? We talked. We talked friendly. It was a good thing".
